London is where I studied and worked with some of fashion’s leading houses. I loved the craft. The pace, less so: trends came and went so fast that clothes started to feel disposable, and the people doing the stitching were nowhere in the picture.
So I came home to India with one question. Where is the high-quality, dressy occasionwear that still looks right years later and doesn’t cost a fortune?

Before anything sparkles, it has to sit right. Boning inside the corsets, darts that shape the waist, princess seams, knife pleats that let a skirt move.
